\nThe 10th<\/sup> Advanced Course on Diagnostics<\/a> organised by M\u00e9rieux Foundation and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine was held at Annecy, France, from the 15th<\/sup> to the 20th<\/sup> of September. A week-long intensive course that brought together professional participants from across 35 countries, the focus of this course was on the role and the value of diagnostics in global health for antimicrobial resistance control.<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Herman Goossens, Coordinator and Project Leader of VALUE-Dx, gave a talk on \u2018Setting the scene for public-private collaborations in diagnostics\u2019 for the session on \u2018Role and value of diagnostics in Global Health\u2019. Prof. Dr. Goossens\u2019s presentation delved into the partnership that has been set up within the VALUE-Dx consortium due to its unique collaboration between industry and non-industry partners. In addition, his presentation touched on the current landscape of diagnostics to combat antimicrobial resistance and the added advantage that VALUE-Dx will bring to demonstrating the socio-economic value of diagnostics.<\/p>\n

With sustainability being at the core of VALUE-Dx to ensure the continuation of its infrastructure, VALUE-Dx\u2019s sustainability plan was presented to include the building of the biobank, database, and the infrastructure to carry out clinical trials on diagnostics.<\/p>\n
